Nutrient-Packed Gelatine Gummies for the Lunchbox!

In the never ending quest for healthy and satisfying snacks, we've discovered a weekly gem – homemade gelatine gummies! Not only do they make a great addition to the lunchbox, but they also bring a boost of protein and support to our little one's connective tissues.

Ingredients:

  • 200g frozen fruit

  • 3 tablespoons grass-fed gelatine

  • 1 cup of filtered water

Stovetop Method:

  1. Add the frozen fruit and water to a saucepan, allowing it to simmer over medium heat.

  2. Turn off the heat and gently incorporate the gelatine into the mixture.

  3. Use a blender or stick mixer to blend the concoction on high for 30-40 seconds.

  4. Transfer the mixture into moulds, letting it sit on the counter for approximately 20 minutes or until it starts to set (this step helps to prevent any accidental spills).

  5. Pop the moulds into the fridge for an additional 30 minutes to ensure a firm setting.

  6. Once set, carefully remove the gummies from the moulds and store them in an airtight container. They'll stay fresh for up to one week.

Thermomix Method:

  1. Cooking the fruit and water for 2 minutes at varoma/speed 1.

  2. Introduce the gelatine, ensuring it stays clear of the blades.

  3. Blend for 40 seconds at speed 6.

  4. Transfer the mixture into moulds, allowing it to rest on the counter for about 20 minutes or until it commences setting (no spills here, too!).

  5. Pop the moulds into the fridge for an additional 30 minutes.

  6. Once fully set, remove the gummies from the moulds and stow them away in an airtight container. They'll keep their freshness for an entire week.

With this recipe, you've crafted a batch of gelatine gummies that not only please the taste buds but also nourish the body. Try adding them to school lunchboxes or offer as an afterschool snack!
