MEL WIGAN

GAPS Practitioner, FuncMed Health Coach, Clinic Manager

Hi! I’m Mel Wigan.  I am a healthy eating and clean living mum to 3 kids and small menagerie of animals.  Initially my journey into the health sphere was one of necessity – I desperately wanted to resolve the health challenges experienced by my children.  Necessity turned to curiosity, to a career change, further study and now my daily journey towards optimal health and wellness.

I am passionate, open minded and curious about all things health, wellness and the mind and body connection.

As a Functional Medicine Health Coach & GAPS practitioner, I love supporting clients on their journey towards a richer, more balanced, “well” life.  Towards the best version of themselves.

I have a very holistic view of health and prescribe a philosophy of balance and “whole self” care.

Wholefoods and traditional nutrition is a key piece to explore when it comes to the wellness puzzle. I also support clients to explore stressors, stress management practices, sleep, relaxation, mindset, emotions, connection to purpose and supportive relationships as critical pieces in their health and wellness puzzle.

ALL of these “modifiable” lifestyle factors directly contribute to our overall feeling of health and wellness.

By “nourishing” all the puzzle pieces and “nurturing” daily, supportive lifestyle practices, it is my belief that we can truly “flourish” in the lives we envision for ourselves.

“Nourish, Nurture, Flourish”

I believe in taking a balanced approach, with small steps to create life-lasting change. Exploring together and finding the practices that work for YOU and YOUR health.  There is no one solution fits all.

I have particular interests in Gut health, GAPS, wholefood and traditional diets (Weston A Price, Paleo, Ketogenic), natural approaches to managing health, the practice of self compassion and the connection emotions have to physical conditions and symptoms.

I love being part of a “team” of professionals, who each bring their specialist skill set and work together to support and empower clients on their journey towards optimal health and wellness.

In my spare time, I love to cook, read, walk, nurture my indoor plant family and spend time with friends and family sharing delicious, nourishing food and connection.
